Ultrasonic welding machine working principles:
Ultrasonic welding machine convert electrical energy into high frequency ultrasonic mechanical vibration, which is transmitted to the workpiece bonding surface through the welding head. Friction at the interface generates heat, causing local melting of the plastic, which then solidifies under pressure and blends into one.
Complete 4 steps process for ultasonic welding machine:
1. Electric energy → high-frequency mechanical vibration (transduction+amplitude modulation)
Generator: Convert AC power (220V/50Hz) to high-frequency AC power (15kHz/20kHz/30kHz);
Transducers (piezoelectric ceramics): inverse piezoelectric effect, high-frequency electrical signal → same frequency micrometer level mechanical stretching vibration;
Variable amplitude lever (amplifier): amplifies the amplitude and transmits the vibration to the welding head.
Commonly used for ultrasonic welding machine: 20kHz (for general plastics), 15kHz (for large/thick materials), 30kHz (for precision small parts), with an amplitude of generally 10-50 μ m.
2. Apply pressure and fit together by ultrasonic welding machine:
The cylinder drives the welding head to press down, tightly compressing the two workpieces to form a fixed welding interface.
3. Friction induced heat generation at the interface (critical heating zone) by ultrasonic welding machine:
High frequency reciprocating micro vibration causes high-speed relative friction between molecules on the contact surface of two workpieces:
The heat is concentrated at the welding interface (welding wire/fusion bar), and the overall temperature rise of the workpiece is very low;
Thermoplastic materials (PP, ABS, PC, PE, etc.) reach their glass transition temperature/melting point when heated, and the surface melts;
Only melt the thin layer at the interface, and the base metal body does not melt.
4. Pressure holding cooling and solidification by ultrasonic film bagging machine:
Stop ultrasonic vibration, maintain pressure continuously, and the molten plastic molecules diffuse and entangle with each other under pressure, cooling and solidifying to form a welded joint.
3、 Key structure: fusion wire (fusion reinforcement) by ultraonic bagging machine:
The welding surface of plastic parts is generally made with raised triangular ribs:
Concentrate pressure and friction, quickly generate local heat and melt;
Controlling overflow and ensuring uniform fusion are standard features in ultrasonic welding design.
